Afghan
About
One of the oldest known cannabis varieties, Afghan is a pure indica landrace from the Hindu Kush mountain region. It is the genetic backbone of almost every modern indica-dominant hybrid in existence.
History & Origin
Afghan cannabis has been cultivated for thousands of years in the Hindu Kush mountains. The harsh, arid climate at high altitude naturally selected for short, bushy plants with dense resin production — traits now synonymous with indica genetics. Afghan seeds were first brought to the West in the 1960s–70s by the 'hippie trail' travelers and later by dedicated collectors. These genetics became the foundation of the Dutch breeding revolution.
