Sour Diesel was reportedly created accidentally in the early 1990s in New York from a cross pollination involving Chemdawg 91, Super Skunk, and Northern Lights. The strain's unique fuel-like terpene profile was unlike anything the market had seen. It became the most in-demand strain on the East Coast throughout the 2000s and remains a benchmark for sativa-dominant hybrids.
