Chemdawg
About
The parent of strains like Sour Diesel and OG Kush, Chemdog is known for its distinct, diesel-like aroma.
History & Origin
Chemdawg's origin story is legendary: in 1991, a grower named 'Chemdog' purchased an ounce of exceptionally potent bud at a Grateful Dead concert in Deer Creek, Indiana. From the 13 seeds found in that bag, he grew out the plants that became Chemdawg, Chem Sister, and Chem D. These genetics directly led to Sour Diesel, OG Kush, and Gorilla Glue #4 — three of the most consequential strains of the 21st century. Its exact parentage remains unknown, but Thai and Nepalese landrace genetics are suspected.
